Lovely hotel with beautiful food and very pleasant and helpful staff..

Having stayed here last year it was exactly as we expected. The only thing perhaps I would like to see is a proper bar area. As it stands before or after dinner if you want a drink you either have to sit in the restaurant area along with other diners, or sit just outside in a small room but you then have to walk into the restaurant to get another drink if you want to. I also feel that this then takes guests away from the hotel restaurant.

We opted to pay an additional £20 per night for a Deluxe Double Room on the third floor and it was well worth it for the views alone. Room was well equipped with everything we needed including a coffee machine. Furnishings and decor were very clean and tasteful both in the room and throughout the hotel. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent and plentiful with a great choice which included a different "special" each day. The welcome and service we received at The Townhouse was of the highest standard. The added facility of off-street parking was also good. We have visited this hotel before on day trips many years ago (perhaps over 20 years ago) so were very surprised/impressed with the transformation since then
