The Butterfly & the Pig is renowned for its vintage charm and homely appeal, and the ‘old-fashioned ethos’ applies just as much to their cooking style as the quirky décor.
Afternoon tea is artfully prepared by talented pastry chefs who home make all the bread, scones and cakes in house and even produce their own jam, presenting you with three tiers of moreish morsels including sandwiches, oatcakes with cream cheese and Scottish smoked salmon, fresh scones with jam and cream and homemade cake. You’ll also get your choice of tea or coffee each.

The afternoon tea selection was great, if you're looking for the crusts off, cucumber filling style finger food this is not for you, for me more is always better. The sandwiches were packed with a great variety of fillings, the salmon and oatcakes were lovely and I really liked the pickled cucumber slices, weird but wonderful. The cakes were beautiful, the scones so light and the cupcakes just fantastic, my coffee was delicious. I loved the vintage style of the place, with the mismatched crockery and proper tablecloths. Already planning a return visit with some family members.”
