a friendly welcome from the staff, with details of everything needed for stay, ie, breakfast, lounge access, WiFi etc. On arrival room looked clean and tidy, unfortunately on morning of checkout, we found a pair of prescription glasses and a button? How a pair of glasses wasissed I do not know. A niggle for us, there were no mugs, there were espresso cups and coffee cups for the Illy pod machine, tea bags and instant coffee sachets were also available along with a kettle, but who wants a teaset size cup for their tea? Our room included a mini bar, which was well stocked, although I would have preferred more than one can of still water, there was a can of sparkling water, but I'm not a fan. That being said it had something for almost everyone. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, continental options were ok, but badly let down by the hot selection. The only hot item that was pr prepared was the scrambled eggs, everything else was cold.
Overall, I'd say what we booked was value for money and would visit again.

First visit to the Carlton George hotel in Glasgow with my wife, got the deal through itison. Wow what a deal central location plus free drink in Mimi bar plus decanters with a choice of gin, vodka & whiskey. Great start to our trip plus booked a 2 hour slot in the "free bar" absolutely brilliant, will definitely book again.

Great deal so decided to take my cousin here as a treat. Check all ok. Deal was decanters in room yes there were 3 but hardly anything in them We weren’t staying in but wasn’t as advertised. We used the lounge upstairs. It was very comfy nice atmosphere but again no snacks as they’d ran out as there were more people than expected Wasn’t impressed
Coffee cups in room were mismatched and a packet of biscuits between 2. Really not acceptable
Breakfast was delicious and staff so nice and attentive
I would come back but a little more attention to detail is needed

Most enjoyable wee overnight stay. staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was, clean & very comfortable. Great wee touch with complimentary decanters & mini bar. We went with 6 friends & were booked into executive lounge which we enjoyed very much with drinks & snacks. Breakfast was great with plenty to choose that suited all of us.

The hotel is very central for getting round Glasgow. Unfortunately there is a lot of work going on, in the inside of the building. It didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.

Having stayed here a number of years ago I wondered if it would be as good as I remembered. It certainly was! We took my elderly parents here for one night in an executive room. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to two of the club rooms (adjoining) which was delightful. Only snag was that there wasn't an accessible shower room available but no real issue for one night. The rooms are very comfortable and the stocked fridge, decanters and access to the lounge mean that there is no need to go out for drinks - handy for people with mobility issues. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed that night but Waxy O'Connors (you need to see it to believe it) is adjacent for basic pub grub - there is a door through to the pub from reception - although it was locked on this occasion. All staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. The only thing that reminded us that we were in the centre of Glasgow was the clunking of the pick up of 'very many' metal beer barrels at 4-5am from the Weatherspoons in George Square!
