We booked for a weekend (plus £20 per night) and with dog (plus £20 per night).
Room was freezing cold. They brought us a portable heater.
Room was literally the furthest away from reception area you could get (240) so taking dog out during the night wasn’t a quick job.
Public areas are very well kept. Was nice to sit and have a drink by the fire.
Restaurant- food was good but zero ambience. No background music.
We checked out after one night as we weren’t feeling great anyway but the room itself was a let down.
Paid £40 for the dog to stay which we were happy to do but we got nothing for this. No dog bed, bowl, treat or anything that would indicate this hotel is dog friendly.
Also - please have a check of the corridors - huge spiders web outside our room. It was the end of the corridor but housekeeping should have noticed if we did as soon as we arrived to the room door.

Unfortunately the bed was in poor condition and needed to be renewed there also was no access to Iplayer on TV. If it wasn't for the bed I would rate my stay as excellent. The staff and food were first rate.

This was a really nice overnight for my wife and I with two friends. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food and overall feeling were very good indeed. We were not told when booking that we should book dinner time in advance, however, the girl on reception made sure we got our desired time which saved us eating at nine at night.
As stated, the food was really good, both evening meal and breakfast and the overall look and feel of the restaurant, reception and bar area look every bit four star.
I feel the rooms let that down ever so slightly as they are clean enough but maybe a bit tired compared to the main hotel area.
This did not detract from a great all round stay.

Excellent experience. Friendly staff. Bottle of wine waiting for us in our room. Room was very spacious and comfortable with all facilities (big TV, tea tray, safe, iron, ironing board, toiletries etc.
Restaurant meal choice was good (2 course dinner on first night included). Great breakfast selection.
Great location for visiting Ayrshire,
Highly recommended.

When we arrived the hotel reception area and the lounge area was stunning all furniture had Beautiful coordinated fabrics made up to a high standard.
Unfortunately the rooms were a bit tired, our room had a missing bedside cabinet and lamp so not great for having your tea or coffee, also
Shower was very poor.
Evening meal was very good but breakfast was poor, food cold and couldn't drink the tea also cold.
A lot of guests queuing for food and not enough out.
A suggestion regarding the bottle of wine on arrival to our room, it would have made sense to be asked beforehand if white or red was preferred.
A long walk back to swap it over.
