Stayed 2 nights with breakfasts and dinner on the first night. Enjoyed our stay. Room was fine .. typical old style Scottish decor bot comfortable and plenty room to put our belongings away. Food was very good and our dinner was included on first night. Food was very good but expensive so we ate elsewhere on 2nd night. There was a cinema, nice big shop to browse in and we spent some time at the pool too.

We had a lovely, clean delux double room on the first floor with internal access to the pool.
The pool was excellent with steam & sauna rooms.
We had dinner, bed & breakfast and the fish and chips were excellent.
I had the haddock on our second evening and although very well presented, it was too salty for my taste. The puddings were amazing though.
We had great two day break and the only thing I would change would be to state when ask re food preferences - no salt in food please. But that’s my personal taste.
We will definitely book again.

The 3 stars are for the food, which was amazing. The staff who were attentive and the room which was clean and well presented. however the bar is over priced and the general areas of the hotel look run down. If you visited Aviemore just before they pulled the ice rink down you'll get the idea.
Our main reason for choosing McDonald hotels were the leisure facilities. We have gone there for the past 3 years for my wife's birthday. Post Covid the hotel looked a bit 'drab' we hoped over time things would improve. Unfortunately that hasn't happened. I don't think we'll use this hotel again.

For the last 10 years minus a couple of stays during Covid , myself and my wife Stay for a few days twice a year, last year we arrived for a few days in November, we felt then that the standards were slipping a bit. However, we booked in for 2 nights last week ie 29th & 1st March 2024.
On the Friday morning we arrived for breakfast at 09:15 hrs , I was surprised to see that there was very little to pick from , a couple off bits of small greasy bacon, a few sausages, I slice off black pudding and one fried egg along with scrambled egg that certainly didn’t look appetising.
I plated a few bits and pieces since any further hot items were not forthcoming, however when I started to eat the food I found it to be lukewarm and greasy.
My wife who is 60% vegan and 100% vegetarian plated some scrambled egg only to find it was cold, when she returned it to the counter the server asked her to return to her table and she will bring out what we thought would have been a fresh plate of scrambled egg, nope, the plate returned had been the plate of scrambled egg which had been put into the microwave and return to our table, not very good practice for any hotel.
We requested brown bread toast which arrived and had hardly been toasted, we had the smallest piece of butter that was certainly insufficient for one slice.
On Saturday morning, we decided to go for breakfast earlier, I must admit there was a larger quantity of choice especially for myself , only to find most of it lukewarm yet again. My wife plated scrambled egg only to find it was as cold as previous per Friday morning, she said so to the server who took the plated egg and again microwaved the food and returned it to the table .
With the toast not resembling more than hot bread the day before I asked to have the toast put through the toaster twice, in the rack on arrival one slice had been done as per our request the other was no more than hot bread.
We had a late booking out time for that day but we decided to leave early and wait to have a decent breakfast at the House of Bruar . Very disappointing if not on the verge of being absolutely unacceptable.

The hotel is only 100 yards from the ;pubs and shops in a quiet area. Great food and a lovely warm and quiet bedroom (2006) The hotel staff are marvellous and the hotel is based for easy access to local roads to visit the local attractions. Well wotht the money.
