Second visit and it was even nicer this time around. 6 course tasting lunch. Delicious food, lovely staff and excellent service. A firm favourite

The Cove is very small and we were seated at a high table which we personally don’t like. The burgers were tasty but we got a portion of fries that were very small(7 fries between 2) they weren’t crisp but soft and quite firm in the middle, the truffle mayo was delicious. We would have ordered dessert or coffee but our seating was so uncomfortable we didn’t. Staff were pleasant and reasonably attentive. It’s basically a bar and reception area for the restaurant

Lovely experience from start to finish, with excellent food and attentive staff in a relaxed and unhurried setting with beautiful views across the water. Definitely recommended

One of the best burgers I’ve had. Pity it’s closing.

We had great expectations which were more than met. Food was imaginatively prepared and presented by staff who knew exactly what the constituents of each tasty dish. We were lucky yo be seated looking out over The Tay on a beautiful sunny evening and watched as darkness fell and twinkling lights appeared all over Dundee.
The Tasting Menu a must for a special occasion or just as a way to treat oneself to not only tasty food but a view to die for.

We thoroughly enjoyed a return visit to The Newport. The seasonal, 6 course menu presented food in a very imaginative way as well as being thoroughly delicious.

We really enjoyed the meal at The Newport. There were lots of little additions to the meal that made it extra special. The food was fantastic, the staff were attentive, welcoming and friendly and the restaurant decor and crockery was lovely. We couldn’t see the full view across the Tay towards Dundee as it was dark but I can imagine it would be a spectacular outlook on a summer’s evening or during the day. We will be recommending this delightful restaurant to others and would come again. It is a hotel and bar too so I imagine it would be great to stay there. The Itison deal was really amazing value and could be used anytime and was easy to use. I would highly recommend this restaurant and Itison.
