The hotel is of a very high standard. All the are all very well trained and pleasent and were always up to enter into some conversation.
The food was very good but I felt the menu could have been quite a bit bigger.

There’s not too many country hotel resorts with an outdoor heated pool, but this Scottish Borders hidden gem has - as well as a whole load more luxurious features. The whole place is superb, and they are just about to launch their beautiful estate cottages for rent from April. Get yourself there soon for a recharge or a special treat. The offer from itison was brilliant.

Staff lovely, food in Bistro expensive and average. Service was poor the night we ate there. All the Spa facilities were outside which put us off as it was cold outside.

They didn't do anything wrong and the staff were nice but I wasn't impressed. The spa at Portavadie is better. Everything was over priced. £30 a night for a dog. 12.5% service charge imposed. Not impressed.
Great breakfast.

Had a fabulous 3 night break in February. Very luxurious room, (we did go for an upgrade from the allocated offer room which was well worth it, although I suspect all the rooms here will be good) staff very friendly and helpful withoit being over bearing. They go the extra mile to may sure eveything is as good as it can be. Fab breakfast and althoughwe only had an evening meal on one night, it was also excellent. For rest and relaxation on a break, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. We'll definitely go back and well done to ITISON for such a fab deal!

The hotel itself is lovely . Breakfast is good but dinner was so disappointing that we ate out on our second night .
The doors into the outdoor pool meant that instead of having a pleasant entrance into the pool , you had to negotiate a muddy pathway offering not overhead protection against the elements
