On arrival was told by the Receptionist that due to a coach tour coming in we were being upgraded to the Garden Suite, this was a very large room overlooking the garden and was very luxurious. Our meal was also excellent with a great choice as was the breakfast. We look forward to further visits to this super hotel

Dinner was horrendous. Breakfast was edible but not very good.

Hotel was immaculate and very well presented. Bar prices good. Room excellent and comfortable bed. It had windows that open to let fresh air in. We picked two quiet nights in the hotel industry so we were not disappointed. Staff all very pleasant and all communicated well. Plenty to do in the area.

Visited on the weekend of 23rd February with a group of friends. On arrival we were looked after by Hannah who was very attentive the whole weekend. The food was great, and we were well attended to be Andre who looked after all our needs. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we were well looked after by housekeepers Helen and Lily who couldn’t do enough for us. There was no entertainment but the music played throughout was great.

I have stayed at the Popinjay before when there was a pool, sauna and gym and thoroughly enjoyed my stay however returning this time I feel we should have been aware that this was now non accessible as it limited us with things to do. The price I paid previously when there was a pool etc was the same as what I paid for this stay and obviously a big difference in experience.

the hotel is run down and quite depressing. They had run out of items. dinner was re-heated frozen food. Breakfast was disappointing, veg haggis was off, poached eggs were rock hard, meat link sausage was undercooked, ran out of beans on second morning. Bar area is very depressing as mainly black colours. Staff were all excellent, all very friendly and professional.
