The whole experience was superb

Expert welcome and guidance to beautifully set table.
Service was fluid with no aspect neglected.
Perhaps would like more than two vegetarian mains choices.
Expectations are usually met at this venue.

This was a lovely experience. We were totally satisfied with the meal and the service.

Beautiful restaurant and lovely food. Service efficient but not attentive which made the discretionary 10% service charge for two of us a bit hard to Swallow.

I have been to Anchor Line several times in the past. My most recent visit this month will be my last. My friend and I had the VIP 4 course lunch with drink. Atmosphere was nice but the restaurant area was very loud when we left through the bar area, the noise dropped dramatically even though the area was also busy. There was a constant draft coming into the restaurant which meant I kept my coat on throughout the meal given that it's November and bitterly cold outside. Not sure where the draft was coming from. The portion size and taste of the food was hit and miss. The truffle mushrooms had very few mushrooms and was a small portion, whereas the soup came in a massive bowl with bread. The mains were decent portions but my friend thought the vegetarian tortellini could have been more flavourful. The biggest disappointment was the strawberry cheesecake which did not taste of strawberry, the cheesecake layer had an odd rubbery texture to it. My friend through the biscuit base was salty for a dessert. Service on the whole was good but was difficult to get the attention of staff when it got busy. Pity the standard of food has deteriorated, don't think it's worth returning to just for the atmosphere.
