Took our three boys to visit Santa and they had a brilliant time with lunch, visit to see The Big Man and then Mrs Claus’s excellent craft table followed by hunt for the 12 Baubles all over the ship. Not rushed and felt very welcomed and staff all very friendly. Coffee wasn’t bad either!

This was a triumph of marketing over delivery. What a let down. ‘Santa’ felt like it was someone who had been kidnapped and told to be Santa without knowing who that was. ‘Festive Lunch’ looool! I struggle to understand how events like this get away with it and the Willy Wonka Experience wasn’t. There looked like more to do at Willy Wonka. Maybe it’s ticket price. To be honest, we can take or leave the activities, but for £16 I’d expect a half decent Santa, that who kids are there for afterall. Not for a bauble hunt or to stick bits of paper together.
The answers on whether I’d return to or recommend the Tall Ship reflect whether we’d go back for that event, not the ship itself.

The craft with Mrs Claus was good. The meeting with santa was terrible, he barley spoke to the children and was not in the slightest bit interested in being there, I'm not sure if he was a last minute stand in, but he was appalling, a complete waste of money. Would not book this event again.

It was a lovely afternoon out at the tall ship to see Santa. The activity was good before going through to the dining area to wait to see Santa. The staff were lovely and the sandwich lunch was just perfect for our wee grandson. There was also a good selection of food and beverage for adults.
It would have been even better if Santa interacted a wee but more with the children but totally appreciate it can be difficult if the wee one is hesitant but overall the experience was very good and we would go back.

Staff were all really helpful and friendly.
Santa was great and then making a Christmas craft with Mrs Claus was a really nice extra touch. Good value for money with the lunch included for kids.

The Tall Ship provided a unique and fitting venue for the event, creating a memorable atmosphere. However, there is room for improvement in its organization and execution. I mean the event should offer a variety of activities to truly make use of the space and create a more engaging experience. For example, adding a Christmas storytime session or hosting interactive games could keep children entertained. Other suggestions include a treasure hunt around the ship or a mini performance like carol singing to bring more life to the event. These, along with the existing craft corner, could create a well-rounded festive experience.
The meals left much to be desired, consisting of a cold sandwich with a slice of cheese, yogurt, and a fruit drink. A warm meal option would have been much more satisfying, and adding a small treat, such as chocolate, would be a thoughtful bonus. Overall, the food choices could benefit from more consideration.
Meeting Santa was pleasant but lacked the festive ambiance that truly embodies Christmas. Incorporating Christmas music or other cheerful elements could significantly improve the experience.
On a positive note, the gifts were brilliant, featuring LEGO-like sets that both my children thoroughly enjoyed. The crafts activity involved creating Christmas tree cone decorations, which added a fun and festive touch to the event.
This review is shared with the hope of encouraging improvements, as the concept has great potential. With better planning and execution, this event could become a truly magical experience.

We have been going to the ship's Santa's grotto for years, and this year we were very happy with the organisation. The Elfs were really nice and guided us through all the steps and we did not have to queue anywhere. Santa's visit was great and much better than previous years, as he spent a good time talking with the kids and asking them questions, whereas last year it was really short and hardly spoke with them.
Unfortunately, the arts and craft activity was exactly the same than last year. And it is a pity, as the person in charge was really nice and helpful with the kids and had all the materials well organised.
We appreciated the coffee for parents. Our only comment about the lunch is that the sandwich was really small and had to order another one. But to be fair for the cafe, the detail that it was shaped as a Christmas tree was really cute.

Santa was lovely so we're all the staff. Kids lunch wasn't great. Far too many steep steps to go up and down.

The elves were very kind and friendly, and Santa was lovely and warm. The whole experience from going up the stair case, to the reveal of seeing Santa in what I think we’re the captains quarters? Was very special and left a magical impression on my toddler, who was meeting Santa for the first time. Can’t wait to visit again next year!
