We had 2 nights here in February. Can't fault the service - efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast very good. We didn't travel by car on this occasion but there is ample parking right outside the door. The main road is busy and the railway is on the other side of the hotel but there are buses into town - stopping close by - and if you are able to walk you can come off the main road area and walk into town via some lovely residential streets with housing and gardens that obviously have an interesting history. Walk takes about 25 mins at an easy pace.
By the way the windows in the rooms are pretty good as we were not aware of any noise from the road or railway. The window opens which is good because there is no aircon - there is a fan in the room though. Rooms are reasonable - bathroom a bit tired looking but clean and functioning. There is a pool and spa which is a plus. We didn't have time to use it - plus schools were off so perhaps more local members were using the facility than outwith school holidays. The steam room was not in operation at this time.

The hotel was nice. My son and I shared a room , a single and a double which was good. The room had dirty towels by the door. Stain on carpet which also felt that it hadn’t been hoovered. The bathroom had dust in corners of the floor and over shelf, toilet roll holder etc. beds were nicely made. Nice leisure facilities , which was a bonus.
Breakfast good choice of everything including gluten and dairy free.
Top marks to the chef for my gorgeous poached eggs. They were amazing. 🤩

We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. From start to finish the whole experience was great.
Check in was easy and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was perfect - comfy bed, warm room, new towels, toiletries, tea & coffee supplies. Karl brought a travel cot to the room and made it up. Breakfast was really good, with a fantastic selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Morgan was very friendly and helpful. We used the leisure facilities and enjoyed our time in the pool / again the staff were really friendly. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable - we’ll be back. 😀

It's a few years since we stayed and the hotel has deteriorated. Main areas not so bad but room sorely needs a freshen up. Toilet flush loose, silicon stained, bottom of door peeling and generally needs a coat of paint.
Nice breakfast and friendly staff made it more pleasant.
