Welcoming and friendly staff. Great fires for drying off after a wet walk.

Stunning location at the top of a long drive in from Spittal of Glenshee. Surrounded by big hills, great site for a typically Scottish baronial house, turret rooms, crow step gables; really striking building. Log fires in reception and main rooms. Dinner was excellent, room was huge and comfortable. Staff were brilliant.

Remote old baronial mansion house. Retains original character by having old fittings and furniture. Slightly threadbare in places but this adds to the charm. Very comfortable bed with quality bedding. Truly dog friendly. Excellent staff - did a good job at same as being very friendly. Nothing that we didn't like. We'll be back!

This is a lovely location far from the roads and people! Lovely hills surround it.
Made to feel very welcome and staff contact very good to check all in order and any requirements before we arrived.
Room was a little 'tired' but this is a period property so decor and room arrangements fit the original features (eg toilet in bathroom, but handwashing sink in bedroom).
Lounge areas large and spacious and lovely fires made it very welcoming.
Food was excellent - very impressed at choices and quality of food.
Compliments to staff and kitchens.

Along a single track road meaning its better to arrive during the day. The room we had was large comfortable and kept very clean with fresh towels daily. Meals were great and chef and his staff provide an excellent choice of Sottish foods and the staff were second to none. Recommendation from us as a quiet relaxing hotel surrounded by magnificent scenery and close enough to Blairgowrie, Braemar and Balmoral for visits.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Looking at other reviews, guests need to appreciate that it is a very old building which gives the Castle approach, so this may not be for them.
Staff Team small but efficient and dedicated to their service.
We will return.

This is quite a quirky hotel, probably not to everyone’s taste as it is fairly run down in parts, particularly the exterior and some public rooms. Our room was nice, with old fashioned furniture, but a spotless bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels. Bed (four poster) was very comfortable, and the view was amazing.
The food was a good standard, big portions!
We tried the local gin, Persie, which was recommended by the female bartender. She was friendly and knowledgeable, as were all the other women staffing this hotel.
This is not your soulless corporate type hotel, but it was different in a good way, and is surrounded by fabulous scenery.
We would definitely return.

Our stay at Dalmunzie was lovely. Our room was beautiful with a four poster bed and lovely views. The meal in the evening was delicious as was the varied choices for breakfast the following morning. Our only regret was that we hadn’t booked for two nights!
