Ardoe House hotel is beautiful. We had excellent service from the staff . The afternoon tea was delicious. Unfortunately I felt that the main spa area (the pool and changing rooms) was ‘tired’ and not terribly clean. Eg there was rubbish in some of the lockers, the glass door of the sauna was streaky, some wooden parts of the surfaces were clearly worn. A little TLC and attention would make a huge difference

I wasn't expecting the pool to be constantly full of kids getting swimming training, it was loud and not a relaxing environment

our therapist was lovely and performed a lovely massage but the spa and changing rooms/ toilets & showers were very unpleasant. The whole area is very tired and honestly in need of a good clean and renovation. The floors were soaking wet, making it very slippy and no attempt was made by staff to control this. I also overheard two people complain to staff regarding the cleanliness of the changing rooms.
The coffee bar is a great idea but it was littered with rubbish and again looked very tired and in need of some TLC.

Our first time experience at the spa. It was excellent. I never had massage before as it was perfect not too rough.
Lovely high tea afternoon. Perfect not too much cakes. We managed to eat it all.
The staff was lovely and make us feel welcome.

We booked a spa day. The steam room wasn’t working, one of the showers was out of order. One of the staff was off sick but they did their best to accommodate us but and we had a long sit waiting on each other to receive our treatments a two hour delay going for our afternoon tea.

I would highly recommend not using the vouchers Ona Saturday as there are children’s swimming lesson on and it is far from relaxing.
When I’m exchanging time away from my own children to be faced with a full pool of them it’s not relaxing.
The treatments were lovely and the afternoon tea was nice but nothing special considering it was a 5 star establishment.
For that reason I’d say the voucher was over priced sadly as I have encounter far better spa facilities and afternoon teas.

The facial itself was lovely however there was building work going on and I could hear drilling all throughout the facial. There were workmen walking around and it wasn’t the relaxing spa experience I expected. I think I should have been made aware that there was work going on when I booked.
