To be perfectly honest, I’m not a great fan of high end hotels: paying way too much money for the same, or sometimes a lesser, service as I would in a homely B&B seems ridiculous to me. However, Kinloch Lodge is different: you feel as though you’ve been invited to stay in someone’s home by the sea, while at the same time being treated to great food and service. It appeals to me in so many ways as I’m such a fan of a great view and good walks from the door - both of which you’ll find at Kinloch. There are welcoming wood burning stoves in the bar and the lounge and a fire pit, burning away outside - a great place to have a wee dram before dinner. I always have a complete heart sink moment when I see a vast continental style buffet of breakfast ‘starters’ as you just know that it creates so much food waste, but at Kinloch it’s all made to order so it’s fresh and delicious and you only order what you plan to eat. We’d bought an itison deal for two nights with a 3 course dinner each night, breakfast and a glass of fizz on arrival - all of which we got without being made to feel as though we were second class citizens, or being given a different menu to the full paying guests, which isn’t true of a lot of places we’ve stayed. We were also blessed with the best weather and Skye is the most stunning of islands so we had such a great trip.

We had an excellent two nights at Kinloch Lodge. The staff and the owner were all very helpful and friendly. The food was particularly enjoyable and nothing was too much bother for waiting staff or the kitchen.
The bedrooms we had were well appointed and warm, with plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. The public areas were all beautifully furnished and warm. (& with quality Christmas decorations - we were there from 2nd January)
Only slight irritation was the number of emails I seemed to have to deal with prior to arrival.

A great time. Food is amazingly good, friendly, knowledgeable staff who go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your time at Kinloch Loge. Beautiful surroundings. We can’t think of anything that needs improved. It was a perfect break yo recharge our batteries. We will be back.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Good value with Itison voucher. Friendly owner/staff who are so in the right jobs. Clean, modern and well furnished room with fantastic sea view. The dinners were delightful and breakfasts too. Well worth the long journey from Hamilton.
