No major problems. Enjoyed the food. Staff needed prompting eg no teaspoons, or side plates. Had to request more tea and no staff on hand. Just needed to be more attentive,

I really enjoyed my afternoon tea at the Popinjay Hotel. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent. We started with a cup of mushroom and tarragon soup which was very tasty. We then had sandwiches and cakes which were nice and simple and tasted very good. The scones were perfect. It was like a traditional afternoon tea should be!

Afternoon tea very average, unimaginative sandwiches, cakes and scones. Very quiet restaurant (no one else there) reasonable wheelchair access.

Firstly the staff at the hotel were really friendly and attentive both on greeting us on arrival and service of our food,in particular the waitress. However the food served was disappointing.plenty of tea and coffee is served but this is followed by what can be described as a thimble of soup, though tasty it has to be said. The sandwiches were basic though varied cakes not so great and scones are served with a jar of long live clotted cream, not fresh.Overall the experience was not as good as other competitors deliver as a similar price bracket.Incidedly the price of two afternoon teas costs pretty much the same direct,as the it's on voucher .
