The hotel is in a great location and retains some of its classic charm but the current owners seem to be doing the bare minimum to maintain this lovely old building.
The car parking is very limited but there is a discounted rate in the nearby Eastgate Shopping Centre. However the staff made no effort to make us aware of this.
The hotel has so much potential but the staff are extremely unfriendly and make be effort to be courteous or polite and does not reflect the usual Highland hospitality to be expected in the capital of the Highlands. The only member of staff who was welcoming was the very young girl on reception when we arrived. No one else made any effort to be friendly or even smile including the other reception staff, bar staff and breakfast room staff. Very disappointed and would recommend staying in another Inverness Hotel.

We all enjoyed our visit to the Royal Highland Hotel. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas and we got a lovely photo taken on the steps of the central staircase.
The beds were so comfortable and our stay was one to remember.
All staff were so helpful.
Would certainly consider returning in the summer.

Rooms dated staff reception and bar very friendly but breakfast was terrible disappointing felt rushed plates swiped away so quick and items removed from buffet plus no one explained system and if cooked breakfast available and coffee machine switched off more like school hall than dinning room not impressed at all

We had a great time.. The room was small but clean and comfortable, the bathroom was big
though. The food was lovely. Continental breakfast but lots of choice and dinner was also very nice. the staff were friendly and helpful. We have been here several times and really like the feel and grandeur of the place - especially the entrance area.

As a frequent visitor to this hotel I asked if I could have a room on the 2nd floor.
I was given the keys to a room on the second floor, I could not believe my eyes when I entered the room. I was flabbergasted, I first saw the large marble fire place with a lovely coal effect fire, then a three piece suite with a chaise lounge, then a very large four poster bed, it did not end there. When entering the bathroom there was a jacuzzi bath with shower. Totally a-maz-ing.
The staff as usual were very professional without being overbearing,
Food is always excellent.

Shower not working properly unless on COLD
Water OFF completely!
I’m celiac and had unfortunately consumed gluten
which for me is serious, vomiting, shaking ,PAIN....
Complained next day only to be informed it must have been
another guest that used G/F toaster that it
was definitely NOT the scrambled eggs I consumed .
I had asked
5 times before eating them as in hotels they are
usually not gluten free, so was surprised and happy
to have some. So not a nice relaxing time for me nor
my sister !

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful. The restaurant had a good choice of meals, and very tasty too. We only had continental breakfast but there was a good varied choice.
Thank you everyone.
