The room was spacious and warm, with a comfortable bed and good choice of in-room refreshments.
Excellent choice of food at breakfast and delicious dinner.
All staff were very friendly and attentive.

Always wanted to stay at the Kingshouse hotel, I couldn't commit to the overnight stay prices during the summer, but through itison I stayed 2 night dinner and breakfast for less than half price.
It was what I expected as I past or stopped at the hotel for a coffee or drink, or walking the west Highland way.
For me it my stay couldn't really have been bettered, all is I always have issues with the height of hotel pillows that spoil my sleep, that's for almost every hotel I go to. Just my preference

A bit disappointed to be honest. Less than prof ssional attitude from reception staff when I couldn’t find my 4 digit itison code. We were told to go and sit in the bar and try to find it as it would make things ‘very difficult’ if I couldn’t. I did have the booking email showing we had booked and paid for the room but that wasn’t sufficient. I’m an old granny lol so nit brilliant either technology. Eventually I did find it and the book in proceeded. The room was reasonable but not worth the extra money. We did not get our fluffy robes and slippers that we paid extra for. By the time I discovered that I was too tired to be bothered but it is a black mark for careless housekeeping.
Breakfast was adequate on first day but some complaints. It was buffet style. Bacon very tough and chewy, sausages overcooked, haggis a strange mush. Only scrambled eggs offered. tinned mushrooms (yuk a personal dislike) no tomatoes, no pastries or croissants (advertised but not there). A nice selection of fruits and yoghurt. The secondary breakfast was table service. Again tough bacon and overcooked sausages. Poached eggs were perfect though.
Dinner on first night was ok but didn’t tempt us back second night. I had lamb - it was tough. Hubby had venison burger which he liked.
My overall experience was as I said at beginning- mediocre. Only plus is the scenery which is stunning and probably why they feel they don’t need to try too hard as people will be back for that alone. We will, but not to Kingshouse Hotel.
