Beautiful hotel, excellent service lovely staff. Festive Afternoon tea itself was NOT Festive at all. Prosecco was best part of deal. For £45 definitely had better Afternoon teas. People who were also dining there approached us asking our views as they were not impressed. I would stay at Carlton George but would not go for Afternoon Tea again.

Delicious food, attentive and friendly staff

The afternoon tea was good however, there were a number of large tables in and they were obviously under staffed.
The noise level was also incredible due to these large tables but I suppose to be expected at Christmas time.
In the morning of our reservation our train was cancelled meaning we would be 15mins late. I phoned to let the restaurant know and was told they would slide the booking to 2.30pm. On arrival there was no record of this conversation and having arrived 15mins late were advised very clearly that they needed to table back in hour and a half as they were very busy and fully booked. They then took over 20mins to bring the afternoon tea. I raised this issue of time with the waiter who said he understood but gave no indication we would be given any extra time. This meant we ate with a bit of pressure on us however by the time our hour and a half was up the restaurant was more than half empty and stayed that way for another half an hour til we left. Whilst they did not chase us off the table in the end the damage had been done.

This was a festive afternoon tea but apart from small mince pies there was nothing else festive, such a shame. Sandwiches lacked imagination as well. Pity as it is a lovely location.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Carlton George yesterday. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was excellent. Each and every member of the waiting staff was friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
The restaurant itself is attractive and welcoming-a great place to enjoy afternoon tea at Christmas!

Afternoon tea was not festive as advertised, room wasn’t festive, plenty of sandwiches & cakes but very basic. Not worth the money.

This is a lovely place to come to for afternoon tea. The waitress was pleasant and the food was lovely. My only gripe was that Itison advertised it as a festive afternoon tea. What we got wasn't what was in the picture.

We had a lovely afternoon tea in the Windows restaurant at Carlton George. The female member of staff could not have been nicer. There was a good selection of food, plentiful supply of tea and loads of time to enjoy it. My only criticism was it was a “festive” afternoon tea and the advert showed Christmas themed cakes but in reality a mini mince pie was the only Christmas element.
