Well worth the visit

I took my 16 year old niece and we were actually quite impressed with the variety of species on display. Some areas need updated though as they’ve been the same for 30 years or more like the ray tank which is good but looks a but dank and I’m always worried someone jumps in or throws something in as the wall edge is so
Low. The meerkats seemed to be cold and their enclosure a bit small as some were just running back and forth a bit demented or huddling under the heat lamp, the wee lookout guy was shivering!
Other creatures had good enclosures though that were well lit. The health of the penguins however was very worrying did not look happy or healthy and all were shivering and missing feathers - I’m
Not sure they should be kept in captivity if they can’t be kept healthy. I remember the ones at Blair Drummond all died off. I think it needs some investment as it could be updated but still an interesting visit.

The good thing is you can go round as many times as you like, also the ticket is value the entire day for multiple visits. Plenty to see and the kids enjoyed it.

Really good, smaller so we took our time, Staff are very friendly!
We made three Talks/ feeding times- Sharks/rays, meerkats and the marmoset, very interesting. Being a family of 5 it made it cheaper for us. Children really enjoyed seeing the different range of fish and animals. Would definitely go back.

Staff were excellent, lots of opportunities to hear talks/feeding times.
Great to hear of rescued animals there and the place seems well maintained and clean.
Good small thoughtful additions around, for example, Chalkboard for children's drawings next to meercats, fact posters/quizzes at each animal and to do when you arrive. Little table of colouring in gift shop which gave me a chance to look! It's the little things like this which make it a well thought out day.

Lovely experience, the keeper was really knowledgeable and we learned a lot. It was lovely to see all of the different personalities :)
We enjoyed looking around the rest of the facility afterwards.

Fantastic experience feeding the penguins. Staff were informative, had a genuine love for their animals and job, and couldn’t be more accommodating. Animals looked happy and well cared for. Wonderful experience

It was our first time visiting St Andrews Aquarium and it was a wonderful experience for our grandchildren. The exhibits were well displayed and informative and they enjoyed viewing all the different fish and colours. There are talks you can attend if you wish. The staff are friendly and helpful. Have a browse in the lovely gift shop at the end. Definitely worth a visit to help support St Andrews Aquarium.

We arrived just before one talk was due to start, staff informed us and told us quickest way to get there
