Yes, I enjoyed lunch.
The menu was good and food excellent.
Waitress service was also very good.
BUT …a caution. We had difficulty with the screen version of the Itison voucher. The restaurant told us “it has already been redeemed!” BUT I had never used it before.
This was the first time. After much faffing the restaurant eventually solved the problem.
I would strongly recommend that anyone PRINT your voucher beforehand. Don’t rely on
the screen version. Phew!

Bought the £75 voucher to use against the a la carte menu - according to the small print we could use it from 12 noon - booked a table for 1pm on Thursday 3/10 but when we got there we were told that only the lunch menu was available. Even having a 3 course lunch would not have used up the voucher value so manager said she'd include our drinks so we could use the voucher in full. We were disappointed as we'd seen items on the main menu that weren't available on the lunch time one. Food was ok but wouldn't return. Itison need to sort out the small print with Le Bistrot

We were delighted to be back at La Bistro . The service, the food and the ambience were excellent as always. The manager goes out his way to make you feel welcome and to ensure you have a special evening. La bistro is one of our favourite Edinburgh restaurants..

Had a lovely afternoon celebrating our birthdays. Friendly welcome and lovely touch getting complimentary glass of fizz each to toast our birthdays. Good choice of dishes for starters and mains, bit more limited for dessert. Mussels were deliciously fresh with rich flavoursome creamy broth. Side of fries were very enjoyable. Sea bream main also perfectly presented with appropriate accommpliments. Both chose a dessert tart which, although very small, were fresh and tasty. On previous visit, tarts were more of a dessert size portion whereas this time, they were more of an accommpliment to go along with a coffee/tea at end of meal. All said, meal was a delightful experience and would def return. Maybe consider a side of cream or ice cream to accompany the dessert tarts.
