We had another lovely stay at the Galley of Lorne breakfast was first class, room comfort was great with a large modern shower room. All in all a great stay, our only issue was black bedding which we don’t like so would be good if the out nice white or light coloured bedding on.

The whole experience was dreadful starting with the booking their acknowledgement said I owed £1.60 when in fact I owed £20 as supplement for the room.
We had to wait a while on arrival no-one at desk, then ghastly room decor. Very uncomfortable bar seating, reasonable meal though service slow. Then met the owner over the £20 payment, clearly he is very depressed; but hardly conducive to enhancing the customer experience. With only 7 rooms surely he could be more of an hospitable presence?! Uncomfortable night in a small double bed, would expect a ‘suite’ to have king or superking bed. No information about time for breakfast in room or anywhere else. So we had to wait a while before the room was opened. To top it all our tv did not work and the shower only produced dangerously hot water and could not be adjusted. Breakfast was reasonable and then we were delighted to escape!
Really sad to write this review the hotel is in a fabulous setting and could be wonderful. Ideally it needs a comfortable bar, better decor and furnishings and should specialise in using local produce.

Beautiful accomodation in a stunning area. Rooms spotless and very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend a visit here.

The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, pet friendly and the decor was interesting. The decor was not in keeping with an old drovers inn, different. The staff were friendly, amenable and could not do enough for you. The food was very good. The Galley of Lorne was a great break, in an excellent spot, the views were amazing. My only niggle was the seating in the bar area was uncomfortable.

We arrived at the hotel to a warm, friendly welcome from a young member of staff. The hotel setting is perfect for a ‘getaway from it all break’, with ample opportunities to walk in the hills or along the scenic coastline. We opted to have dinner at the hotel, and we were not disappointed with the quality, presentation or flavours of our 3 course dinner. Michael our host was friendly, attentive and humorous too!

Would recommend it. Beautiful area to visit spring and summer. Fortunately we left before landslide. Weather didn't deter us. Would stay again.
