I almost never visit the theatre due to the cost, however, I was delighted to see the opportunity to attend Madama Butterfly pop up on Itison. A truly glorious evening, even though I left a little bit heartbroken.

Well performed by the Ukranian Opera and Ballet supported by a very professional thirty piece orchestra. The performance was sung in French with English sub titles. If there was to be one fault the sub titles were too far up and a bit difficult to read from where we sat at the side of the auditorium. The singers and dancers all performed to the best of professional standards. A touching end to the night was the playing of the Ukraine National Anthem.

The performance was very enjoyable and if high quality. The musicians were Devine. The conductor was of a lovely disposition so gentike.
The scenery was authentic the opera singers were so heavenly - enjoyed fry much.
One small point in the opening act - I’m unsure if it was the acoustics with the music being so close to the stage, but Mr Pinkerton & the marriage stranger were hard to hear.
