Unfortunately our stay wasn't amazing. The rooms are outdated and in need of some TLC, tv remote didn't work, moldy shower, no information about hotel amentities/facilities was provided on check in or in the room, had to keep going to reception to ask as phone in room didn't work.
Restuarant service was slow, stood for 10 mins waiting for someone to seat us, food we ordered was bland and not worth the money. Restuarant decor was cold and dated, walls could really do with some art.
Pool was overcrowded, couldn't get into the jacuzzi due to so many people waiting to have a turn, pool filled with loud children so not very relaxing.
Overall just a disappointing experience.

Friendly helpful staff. Lovely food. Plenty parking spaces. Relaxing atmosphere in restaurant and lovely cosy sitting room . Very pleased. 😀

Despite the history of the building the restaurant felt soulless. Decor was tired, food (afternoon tea) poor quality and tea/coffee pretty awful. No refills offered either (not that we would have taken them) but I think this was due to there not being enough staff. This was our first visit to Stirling Highland Hotel and unfortunately it was a real disappointment. I do hope they are able to make improvements so it becomes a thriving hotel and restaurant reflective of the building’s fascinating history.

Dirty tables left uncleared everywhere, we were seated in a dark corner and abandoned for over half an hour. Service was very poor. The sausage roll slices were greasy and massive lumps of fat were visible. Sandwiches (glow-in-the-dark salami, egg and cheese/onion) were tasteless and dry. The scones were nearly burnt and completely dry. The cakes were all plastic-looking industrial products. We had to ask for butter, 2 x milk, tea/coffee, prosecco. I don’t usually write reviews, but it was seriously dreadful.

Having been pre covid and experienced lots of the ‘best afternoon teas’ to post covid where we have come back on numerous occasions having been last at Christmas 2022, the service was extremely poor to non existent, the afternoon tea was even poorer and we said we would not return.
However, my Christmas present voucher brought us back and wow! It has a wsrm & cosy atmosphere, service wgood, we will definitely return😊

Our Afternoon Tea was tasty, although the microwave was a bit fierce on the sausage roll. Sandwiches were delicious, scones were lovely and the cakes were good too. The staff, when we could find them, were friendly and pleasant although it would have been nice to have been offered another pot of tea. Overall enjoyable visit.
