Was pleasantly surprised as the sandwiches were made to order and nice and fresh. Scones and cakes very very tasty. Definitely recommend

We enjoyed our afternoon tea. The only thing we felt that could be improved is the sandwich filling. There was not enough filling and only 3 choices which was egg, cheese savoury or ham. Would have expected a choice rather than the selection made for you. Otherwise it was enjoyable.

We were not impressed with the afternoon tea. . The volivant was just filled with curry flavoured mustard . Egg sandwich and ham sandwich, were. Okay . The small wrap with coleslaw was tasty but soggy . The cakes were nothing to write home about but I must say scones were lovely . We only received one cup of coffee and we had to pay for second cup . What I thought was great was service by a young man called Christopher he is an asset to the hotel .

From the very polite person at the hotel who took the initial booking, to the friendly staff who served us our afternoon tea, we were delighted with everything at AlonA Hotel.
The afternoon tea itself was very nice and we enjoyed the whole experience.

The afternoon tea was terrible, scones had been put in the microwave and were chewy & hard due to this. Cakes were hard around the edges due to not being fresh. The sandwich's were basic and the butter was cheap and horrible. Would not pay £30 for this no way, it's not worth it at all, very greasy spoon cafe type afternoon tea. Better making your own for less. Honest review sorry..

We had one quarter egg and one quarter ham sandwich each with a quarter savoury cheese wrap and a coronation chicken volovant each. This turned out to be enough as the scone was quite large. The scone was warm and tasty. The cakes were nice and bite size and a good variety. Everything was very fresh and nothing was too much trouble for our server. I was worth what we paid for it at the itison discounted rate. You may get more sandwiches etc if you are paying full price but as we won't go back we will never know! Setting was nice although there weren't many people there and the dining room felt cold.

From entering the hotel the staff member was confused where we should be sitting. He looked bit lost. After three attempts we got a table. Afternoon Tea not great. Could tell cakes etc not baked hotel products some a bit stale. The scones looked baked but were doughy. We love afternoon teas and thought we would try this hotel as not been there before.
So disappointed with whole experience. Will not be returning to this Hotel.

Was a bit disappointed. Had phoned beforehand with dietary requirements, as I'm vegetarian and don't eat eggs or fish and can't eat anything with mayo. I was given egg sandwiches and cheese savoury which contains mayo. The waiter was very apologetic and took it back. The next plate had cheese savoury wrap which again was returned.
The cakes were poor and my friend and I left them. On a brighter note the scones with jam and cream were lovely.
