The Gannet has been our Glasgow ‘go-to’ fine dining restaurant for a number of years now. We have never been disappointed. We always tend to go round about the time of our wedding anniversary (we do go at other times too with other family members) so it’s very special for us. Everything about our visit yesterday was just perfect. The food was exquisite both taste wise and visually. Service was spot on. I asked our delightful server for some information about a Greek wine I’d never tried. She gave me a detailed and tempting description then offered a sample of the wine. It was delicious so I ordered some. It was a great match with my sea trout. I’m going to have to source that wine and buy a few bottles. We came away yesterday on a high after The Gannet as usual met all our expectations. We’ve had the pleasure recently of eating in both one Michelin and two Michelin star restaurants in Scotland. In our humble opinion, The Gannet is Michelin standard. Already looking forward to our next visit.

This is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. Food, service, wine list and ambience are always excellent.
Our voucher was for 4 courses for 2 people (delicious choices for each course) but we were also served two types of bread, an amuse bouche a pre dessert and petit fours. Given the beautiful quality and depth of flavour in every dish this represents outstanding value for money.
Highly recommended.

Lovely unpretentious and welcoming restaurant. It has a rustic feel about it and the table beside the fire was very much appreciated as it was a very wet miserable day. The servers were all cheerful and informative and the extra bread provided to mop up the juices on the main course was a lovely touch. The food sounded unappealing on the menu but everything we ate was delicious and we can’t fault it. If I was to criticise anything, it would be the desert. Only 2 options and neither were things I particularly enjoy. My husband’s cheese course was fantastic.

In the past we have really enjoyed our experience. This time it was disappointing for the following reasons:
1. Service very rushed.
2. Some food over salted: the focaccia bread and the skate.
3. The cost of wine was £4 higher than on your website.
4. Too many supplementary charges e.g two from three in the dessert menu. Choices restricted.

Despite having a few allergies, The Gannet always makes everything work for me and the service combined with the food & choice of excellent drinks/wine is second to none! . We’ve been a few times, never disappoints. All locally sourced. Would truly highly recommend.
