Dulse is a local restaurant for us and we were keen to give it a try. Staff were excellent but service was slow. Food was enjoyable though not really memorable, some odd combinations on the plates - our most common answer when the staff asked if we enjoyed each dish was "different".
Overall, its the pricing of this place that leads to the middling score. For what you get, it is very expensive. The voucher price is the correct price for the food we received. Drinks are also expensive, even for the West End of Edinburgh.
We have many great restaurants here and this didn't hit the spot for us.

First visit to Dulse and will definitely go back . Lovely ambience, great staff and delicious food with unusual flavours

Tables downstairs are a bit like dining in a corridor. Otherwise service okay and food likewise.

A lovely trip to Dulse. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food delicious. Really, really good.
Only issue was the price - advertised as 2 people with 3 courses for £49, a 50% reduction on £98… actually, the real price in the restaurant is only £29.50 pp. So, it was actually a 17% reduction on £59. That is not legal.

Had a wonderful seafood lunch and tasted some oysters for the first time. The atmosphere, environment and service was superb. We will definitely come back here.

We had the tasting menu. Everything was exceptionally well cooked and presented, and the service was spot on too - attentive but not intrusive. I’ll definitely be back.
